We are honoured to introduce our esteemed clinical advisors, Christine J. Heath, Dicken Bettinger, and Judith A. Sedgeman, who bring a wealth of experience and deep understanding of the Three Principles to provide ongoing mentoring and guidance for our team at A Slice of Happiness. With decades of expertise in mental health, addiction counselling, and psychological well-being, they are invaluable to supporting our mission of delivering transformative programs to vulnerable adults in the community. Their leadership, dedication, and compassion ensure our facilitators are equipped to cultivate resilience, healing, and sustainable well-being through the power of the Three Principles.
Christine J. Heath, MS, LMFT, MAC, CSAC
Christine J. Heath, MS, LMFT, MAC, CSAC, has over 40 years of experience providing Three Principles based therapy, supervision, and training. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Master Addictions Counsellor, and is Hawaii-certified as a substance abuse counsellor.
Ms. Heath, an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, has created training programs for marriage and family therapy graduate students and professionals who are working toward licensure. Ms. Heath has been the founder and Executive Director of the Hawaii Counselling and Education Center since 1985. Prior to moving to Hawaii, she developed and directed two other outpatient clinics in Minnesota. The Minneapolis Institute of Mental Health was one of the first clinics based on the Three Principles in the world.
Ms. Heath is the coauthor of “The Secret of Love, Unlock the Mystery, Unleash the Magic”and she has a podcast with Judy Sedgeman called Psychology Has it Backwards.
Ms. Heath was a first generation student of Sydney Banks and continues to preserve and share his work by volunteering for the 3PGC Board of Directors since its’ inception in 2010. She also continues to provide international training, consultation and love to anyone who wants to awaken to the power of the understanding that he uncovered.
Dicken Bettinger, Ed.D
Dicken Bettinger, Ed.D., received his doctorate in counselling psychology and has worked during his career as a licensed clinical psychologist. Dicken’s entire career has focused on psychological well-being. In 1986 he met Sydney Banks, who shared a profound new understanding of the human mind called the Three Principles that unifies our connection to a deeper intelligence called wisdom and our psychological nature. While living in Vermont, Dicken co-founded one of the first Three Principles training, counselling, and education centres. Later Dicken served as a senior staff at Pransky and Associates in La Conner, Washington for 16 years, where he developed and led corporate and university leadership trainings, team development, and cultural transformations. In 2012 Dicken founded his private practice, 3 Principles Mentoring. He offers 4-day immersion retreats for individuals; practitioner development; and advanced training programs. He enjoys leading group seminars in the US and Europe. Dicken serves on the Board of Directors of 3 Principles Global Community.. Dicken is the co-author of a book on the Three Principles called Coming Home: Uncovering the Foundations of Psychological Well-being. Dicken has been happily married since 1969. He has two adult children and four adored grandchildren. He enjoys photography, hiking, canoeing, and exploring art and different cultures, and he values making new friends of all ages on his travels.
Judith A. Sedgeman, Ed.D
Judith A. Sedgeman, Ed.D has been dedicated to sharing the Principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought professionally for more than 35 years. Dr. Sedgeman has worked over the years with many other practitioners of the Three Principles throughout the United States and around the world. She has been a consultant, a University professor, an Institute Director, and a mental health mentor working with clients from all walks of life in may different settings. She is the author of a book about her experience finding and sharing this work, It All Started With A Bird. She and Christine Heath, offer a weekly podcast, “Psychology Has It Backwards”.
Collaboration and partnership are the keys to extending the power of the Principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought to awaken health and well-being across diverse populations. Dr. Sedgeman has long been a leader in mentoring, teaching and practicing leadership in the presentation and development of Three Principles education and services.
